Dreams of Lost Buttresses and Other Stories

** Shortlisted in the 2024 Banff Mountain Book Competition. **

‘...the cliffs and crags of Eryri held her stories in their libraries of tall tales.’

Set among the mountains and crags of Wales, Scotland, England and North America, Heather Dawe's new book Dreams of Lost Buttresses is a collection of thirteen short stories that explore the relationships between people and place, and the visceral connection of rock-climbers to the landscape around them.

Inspired by climbing memories, these are stories that merge reality with the mystical and magical. Tales of shapeshifting, falling, obsession, desire, and the joy found in losing yourself on the rock.

Foreword by Katie Ives.

'A magic read. Deep insights into people, place and climbing.'
